Sellers Guide
Most sellers want their property to sell quickly. But sometimes it is inconvenient to sell a home – especially one that you are still living in. As an experienced REALTOR®, I can help you 'see' your home through a potential buyer’s eyes and make recommendations for making it more attractive.
Depersonalize your home as much as possible. The best way is to clear out your closets or reorganize them, pick up clutter and pare down what’s inside.
Store away items and special collections usually displayed in cabinets and hutches.
Remove excess furniture.
Keep the house clean every minute it’s on the market! This takes great effort, but you'll feel comfortable if the buyer wants to see it with short notice.
Check A/C and heating systems. A checkup from your regular service tech can reduce potential problems at inspection time.
Fix leaky faucets, toilets, and replace faulty lights.
First impressions count. Paint (or touch up) exterior. Repair screens and windows. Many buyers make their purchasing decision on appearance as soon as they drive up to the house.
Spruce up your landscaping. Have your yard mowed and edged regularly and remove or trim dead trees and shrubs. Plant colorful seasonal flowers. If you have a pool, make sure it is crystal clear. Remove inflatable toys.
